This programme aims to develop knowledge and capacity leadership and leaderfulness in civil society organizations and movements across Europe. This includes developing the conceptual frameworks, methods and programmes for more effective leadership training; to develop a competency framework, toolkit of best practices, a curriculum and training guide to support learning and skill development for ‘leaderful movements” as well as to promote community and active citizenship leadership which is shared, accountable, clear and easy to spread. This project developed the foundational resources for a Europe-wide Programme of Leaderful Organizing to develop the capacity of civil society organisations and movements to respond to a range of key social and ecological challenges.
OBJECTIVES:
Build the collective power and agency of social movements, organisations and groups addressing ecological, political and social justice issues.
Develop participants’ capacity to practice leaderful organizing and build movements where leadership is collectively shared, accountable, and agile.
Enable collective reflection, analysis, and learning of participants’ experiences of leadership in movements across Europe.
WHO?
The programme is for community organizers, activists, adult educators working within civil society organisations and social movements.
OUTCOMES
The programme contributed to (1) Research the leadership challenges and needs of organisers, educators and organisations across Europe. (2) Design an educators’ Toolkit on Leaderful Organizing published on theCommons Library, (3) Design a competency framework for Leaderful Organizing, (4) Design a curriculum on Leaderful Organizing (5) Design a Training of Trainers Handbook tools, examples ad session plans for educators and trainers (6) Developan online blended learning space with digital resources and tools to assess individual and organisational competencies for leaderful organizing and take a self-paced online learning journey.
