2023 Donor Forum: Organizing for Climate and Social Justice

December 8, 2023
10:00 – 13:00 CET
(online event)

The ECON Donor Forum is an international learning exchange between donors and community organizers in the climate and social justice movements. Its goal is:

  • Building and deepening relationships

  • Learning about community organizing in its diversity

  • Having honest and strategic conversations on how to support and develop the community organizing sector in Europe.

The forum enables participants to learn from past experience, identify challenges, needs and priorities, and develop joint strategic approaches between donors and organizers. Whether you’re new to organizing or very experienced, you’ll be empowered to become an ambassador for organizing within your organizations and communities.

Background

In 2021, ECON organized a donor forum on “Community Organizing and Climate” in Europe. Since that time, ECON has launched a locally rooted, internationally coordinated organizing campaign for a Just Transition in three Central European Countries. We believe that centering frontline communities impacted by climate and social injustices is key to building powerful climate justice movements. This year we would like to discuss together how we can better support and link organizing efforts that take a climate justice approach.

Past Donor Forums

Since 2018, ECON has been organizing the Donor Forum to bring organizer and members of the philanthropic community together. Read about some of the past forums here: 2021 | 2020 | 2019 | 2018
