ECON is governed by an international Board of Directors elected from the membership at the annual General Assembly.
ECON General Assembly
The General Assembly is ECON’s highest decision making body gathering once per year representatives of ECON full and associate members, board members, the secretariat, and selected guests. The GA acts as a forum to strengthen the network, vote on new members, elect the board, ratify strategic decisions, approve annual reports, exchange ideas and plan future priorities and actions to support community organizing in Europe.
The Board is a group of five people elected from ECON members to provide strategic direction and oversee the work of the organization between the General Assemblies. The Board strives to reflect the balance and composition of the network, including geographic and gender balance. Board Members are representatives of ECON as a whole and do not represent their individual countries or organisations.
The European Community Organizing Network (ECON) is European network of almost 30 member organizations in 14 countries organizing for a just, sustainable and democratic future. Learn more about our members here.
